Living in Belize

It is ½ mile from Maya Center, which is the entrance to the jaguar preserve, Cockscomb.  It is a 15 minute drive to the beautiful Caribbean Sea in Hopkins and only 10 minutes to Sittee River which flows into the Caribbean.  Dangriga is the closest “town” where all your business needs are met.  It’s about a 30 minute drive.

The property is 12 ½ acres.  5 of the acres are beautifully landscaped with over 50 varieties of orchids in the trees.  The other 7 ½ acres are rainforest with trails for viewing the indigenous wildlife of Belize.  Jaguar roam along with tapir, coati mundi, gibnut, and many other wonderful creatures.  They are not aggressive or harmful to humans.  The variety of birds is amazing.

The main house is situated approximately 330 feet from the Southern Highway.  It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath and very nicely appointed.  There is also a small house in the forest that rents for $600US per week.  It has one bedroom with a double bed.  All renters need bring is themselves and whatever they plan to consume.  There is adequate space for more rentals without ruining the environment.
